About the company

A global provider of analytics and investment data solutions is growing their US sales team and is looking for a business development specialist to join their expanding team. This will be their first sales hire in the US, and is a great opportunity for you to make your mark on the company and the shape of their US sales team. The company specialises in ESG data; providing unbiased data aligned to the UN’s sustainable development goals and covering a wide range of asset classes.

About the role

The company is looking for someone with B2B sales experience, ideally within financial services selling products to asset managers, banks, and other institutional investors. You’ll be highly motivated and be used to working towards a financial target. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

You’ll be part of a passionate team of super-bright experts driving societal change, with plenty of autonomy and opportunity to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Sales, execute on a strategy to grow sales to asset managers in the US
  • Represent the company at meetings with prospective clients, understanding their needs and conveying the value of the company’s solutions
  • Work with clients to help them integrate ESG data in their investment processes, support them in using the data, and answer technical questions
  • Prospect, generate leads and write proposals; follow up on new business opportunities and set up meetings; plan and prepare presentations.

Requirements

  • 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the financial services sector
  • Understanding how institutional financial markets operate
  • Experience working to a financial target
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write compelling proposals for innovative or customized solutions
  • Ability to travel to meetings
  • Business acumen, good negotiation skills and persuasiveness
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and results oriented
