Senior Project Manager

Location: Remote / M4 Corridor & London

 

About the role

A leading systems integrator specialising in financial services is looking for a senior project manager with a track record of successfully delivering Agile projects for a three to six month contract (likely to be renewed). You’ll be leading a team of 7-10 people, working closely with the end client to facilitate the delivery of a contact centre transformation project. This is a complex project that’s scope has expanded during the lifetime of the project, and of which some aspects are troubled. You will be responsible for identifying problems and blocks and relentlessly focusing on delivery.

Naturally, you’ll have excellent client-facing experience, good communication skills, and be adept at stakeholder management. Some technical knowledge is needed – ideally with  Amazon Connect. You’ll be familiar with Agile methods of delivery, but will have a practical and flexible approach to project management methodology. You’ll own the project plan and resources, deploying them as you feel fit.

The role is remote with occasional in-person meetings; the company is gradually increasing their face-to-face contact, but anticipate that remote working will continue to be the norm for some time.

Requirements

  • Excellent PM pedigree on small, medium and significant sized projects in technical and challenging environments in a regulated environment (preferably financial services).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communications.
  • Experience of delivering contact centre solutions is essential (ideally based on Amazon Connect, but any experience of cloud-based contact centre solutions is acceptable)
  • Highly creative, energetic and adaptable: highly versatile in fast moving, dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated line management skills in challenging environments, strong interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate to fair and reasonable conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation); possess the ability to listen effectively, react appropriately to feedback and promote an effective working environment.
  • Experience of operating within and in-depth understanding of the financial services industry is important; experience of public sector projects would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience of leading large teams of dynamic, multi-disciplinary staff across concurrent, diverse activities.
  • Proven management skills in respect to all aspects of personnel management including but not limited to: recruiting, staff utilisation, objective setting and staff reporting, identification of and pursuit of rewards and recognition.

This contract is inside IR35.
